U2 housekeeper in court over £2.5m theft

U2 bassist Adam Clayton appeared in court yesterday at the trial of his former housekeeper, who’s accused of stealing nearly £2.5m from him. Carol Hawkins is alleged to have committed the offences on multiple dates between 2004 and 2008, stealing amounts ranging from £800 to £250,000 at a time. The trial is expected to last six weeks.
