Could Dave Grohl jam with Rush at Rock Hall?

Dave Grohl - Them Crooked VulturesDave Grohl has been named as the man who’ll induct Rush into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame – but it’s not known whether he’ll jam with the Canadian giants during the ceremony.

He and Foo Fighters bandmate Taylor Hawkins will do the honours as Geddy Lee, ALex Lifeson and Neil Peart finally receive the credit fans believe they’ve deserved since they were first eligible in 1999.

Organisers have revealed the list of other star guests for the event in Los Angeles on April 18.

Don Henley of the Eagles will induct Randy Newman while John Fogerty and Jackson Browne will perform with him. Mike McCready of Pearl Jam and Jerry Cantrell of Alice In Chains will appear with Heart, and they’ll be inducted by Soundgarden frontman Chris Cornell. Meanwhile, bluesmen John Mayer and Gary Clark Jr will perform for Albert King.

Rock Hall boss Joel Peresman tells Rolling Stone: “Dave and Taylor were one of the first people we thought about to induct Rush. They said ‘yes’ in about two seconds.”

Of the chances of a jam session he says: “I’m hopeful. More than a few times in the past, people have got caught in the moment and decide to perform. That’s what happened last year with Green Day — they were just there to present an award to Guns n’Roses, and after hanging around rehearsals, they decided to play.

“You have Dave around, Don Henley there – who knows what will happen? We have some very interesting people.”
