Drew Stevyns Live On Stageit 14th April 2013

341408_534450966570316_1023925767_oStageit…the future of music shows? Not at all. BUT when you want to see an artist that isn’t going to tour in your country/city/state any time soon or you’re an artist trying to reach further a field then Stageit is the perfect way to do it.

This was the second show I had seen on this site and it was by far better than the first! Drew Stevyns was a finalist on America’s Got Talent (you may have heard me mention him before on this site) and he is just a massive, massive talent waiting to explode into the mainstream…. but for now at least, he’s ‘ours’ for a little while longer!
The show had sold out previously and they had to add more tickets…, which I understand, almost sold out too and it’s hardly surprising since Drew has a very loyal fan base; most of which were in attendance!

Beaming to us live from manager Mike’s basement, Drew sounded fantastic with just his voice and his guitar (And a nice bottle of red!) Playing some of his own songs such as Alison and my request for Overboard (Yay!) Set Me Free, Promise, Where You Are, Finally & Waiting among lots of others; including the debut of his new single ‘Forever’ which everyone agreed was superb! Drew also did some amazing covers of stuff like Nirvana’s Come As You Are (Acoustic!! What a legend!) And ‘Where Did You Sleep Last Night’ (Leadbelly; also done by Nirvana), Ain’t No Sunshine (for Brenda!), How To Save A Life, Southern Cross, Careless Whisper, Blue Suede Shoes and awesome versions of Layla and Simply Red’s ‘Holding Back The Years’ that just blew me away!
The show was originally meant to run for 30 minutes with a 20 minute encore but Stageit saw fit to let Drew play on so we were treated to over and hour and 40 minutes!! (And it was a treat!) Lots of good fun and banter on the chat side too with some talk about ‘Dean Winchester’ and putting Drew in a 67 Impala! I Wonder if he kills demons too?!
I can’t praise this guy enough. The show was second only to seeing him live (one day we’ll get him to the UK I’m sure of it!) but until then Stageit is the way to go! For just over £3 I got to hear almost 2 hours of wonderful music on a Sunday night & totally converted my mother into a Drew Stevyns fan!
All the fans in attendance said how brilliant the show had been on Stageit; Facebook was buzzing afterwards with positive comments, and some of the lucky few were picked to win some signed goodies, a phone call after the show and even a personal meeting with Drew for one lucky tipper! (I, unfortunately like always, didn’t win anything – I can’t even win an argument!) but I know those prizes will be treasured by those who won!

Well done and thank you to Drew and manager Mike for putting on another fantastic show and I swear if I win the Lotto I’m sponsoring a UK tour!!!
