Black Star Riders reveal UK tour dates

blackStarRidersBlack Star Riders will tour the UK starting in November, they’ve confirmed.

The Thin Lizzy offshoot will hit the road in support of debut album All Hell Breaks Loose, which is released on May 27 via Nuclear Blast.

The 11-track disc features Lizzy men Ricky Warwick, Scott Gorham, Damon Johson and Marco Mendoza with drummer Jimmy DeGrasso, and was produced by Kevin Shirley. Lead track can be heard below.

Further dates and special guests are to be announced.

Frontman Ricky Warwick – who recently said he was reuniting with former band The Almighty for a new album – admits he’s still learning from late Lizzy frontman Phil Lynott.

He tells Metal Shrine: “When we were still writing under the guise that it was gonna come out as Thin Lizzy, there were certain rhymes and certain words that I wanted to get a bit of Phil on.

“When we wrote four or five songs after we changed to Black Star Riders, I found myself doing that because I couldn’t get it out of my system.

“I’ve never learned so much from a dead man in my life – Phil, I think about him, I sing his songs every day and he’s in my thoughts all the time. He might as well be here.

“He’s teaching me about his phrasing, about his poetry, about his writing; so some of that got into me, and it’s a great thing. I certainly had a certain mindset about how I wanted to write and I wanted the Lizzy fans to feel comfortable.”
