Live at Leeds reveal The Sunshine Underground as special guests

LAL2012_logo_whiteBGLive at Leeds are pleased to reveal that The Sunshine Underground have been named as the special guests at The Brudenell Social Club. Taking to the stage at 11pm, The Sunshine Underground will be playing material from their new release It Is Only You, the band’s first recorded output since 2010 which is available on a strictly limited edition 12” exclusively viawww.thesunshineunderground.bandcamp.com.
The festival is working hard to extend the event further than before. The #LALTakeover’s events are all confirmed, taking place at Dr. Martens, Pretty Green, Everyman Cinema, Made In Leeds and Hirt’s Yard. Timings are on the website and will have include performances by Little Comets, The Pigeon Detectives, Sam Airey, Dancing Years and many more. All are available free with the Saturday wristband – http://www.liveatleeds.com/laltakeover/

Live at Leeds, NMC Live and 360 Club will be bringing you a ‘Busker’s Trail’ at this year’s event from 12 p.m onwards on Saturday 4th May. To lead the charge, we’ve roped in two touring musicians – Sam Forrest of Nine Black Alps and Verse Chorus Verse (Tony Wright, formerly of And So I Watch You From Afar). The idea is simple: Sam & Tony will head around Leeds from 12 p.m and play short, pop-up sets at locations across the city during the afternoon. Expect to see them by Trinity Church, Dr. Martens store on King Edward Street, Trinity Leeds and outside the larger venues like Leeds Uni, Leeds Met and The Cockpit when the queues get heavy… Of course, this wouldn’t be Live at Leeds without a local element, so we’re looking for local acts who want to get involved. If you’re free on Saturday afternoon, simply email info@360-club.co.uk  in the next couple of days with a link to your music (acoustic acts only please – we won’t have electricity on the street!) and we’ll plot sets for a few people at the above locations. We’ll also have a video/ photo team capturing the trail at different points of the afternoon, and you can follow where the trail is headed via https://twitter.com/360Clubleeds
The Unconference have released the programme, which you can view by following this link – http://bit.ly/Unconf2013Programme. If you haven’t registered still, it is highly recommended you do so by emailing unconference@liveatleeds.com.
