From The Jam – The Public Gets What The Public Wants Tour

fromthejamFresh from their three month ‘Setting Sons’ tour Mod legends From The Jam have announced a special and intimate four-date tour in January 2015, with special guests Nine Below Zero.

The shows will see the band performing classic The Jam hits such as ‘Down in the Tube Station at Midnight’, ‘Going Underground’, ‘Town Called Malice’ and ‘The Modern World’ as well as other favourites and songs from Bruce’s own solo career.

From The Jam includes original The Jam bassist Bruce Foxton, whose power and force in playing still drives the classics with the same fullness and intensity as they have for the last three decades, fifteen years of which were spent playing with the equally iconic Stiff Little Fingers. He also had hit with singles ‘Freak’, This Is The Way’ and ‘It Makes Me Wonder’ as a solo artist.

He is joined by frontman Russell Hastings who also covers guitar and is the only frontman other than Weller to have worked with both Bruce Foxton and Rick Buckler (former The Jam drummer). His passion and understanding of The Jam he has entitled him to be credited by fans and critics alike as the perfect candidate to respectfully and admirably slip into the shoes of former The Jam frontman Paul Weller, with whom he also worked alongside with in 2011.

The latest addition to the already solid duo is probably one of the most sought after drummers on the planet Steve “Smiley” Barnard, who can boast to being the backbone to some incredible performers, these include Joe Strummer, Robbie Williams, Lily Allen, Steve Cropper… the list goes on…. and on…

From The Jam are joined by blues masters Nine Below Zero who in 2014 celebrated their 35th anniversary, and in February 2014 re-released remastered copies of their albums ‘Don’t Point Your Finger’ and ‘Third Degree’. The also boast having toured extensively with their NBZ reunion tour and with the mighty Stranglers and performing at many a festival across Europe.

Not content with these huge undertakings the bands are also busy in the studio writing more material for a new release.

Nine Below Zero will be playing the shows with all four founding members, Dennis Greaves (vocals, guitar) Mark Feltham (vocals, harmonica), Mickey ‘Stix’ Burkey (drums) and Brian Bethell (bass).

Mark Feltham of course being a highly talented and sought after session artist who has featured on albums by Annie Lennox, Oasis, Dido, Robbie Williams, Johnny Cash and Rory Gallagher.

The show as a whole is set to get feet moving, mouths singing and of course hands clapping, a fun filled night of classics from two very long established and successful bands.
