Vengeance’s new ‘Crystal Eye’ studio album released February 27th on SPV

***DUTCH HARD ROCKERS? ?CRYSTAL EYE? STUDIO ALBUM RELEASED FEBRUARY 27TH ON STEAMHAMMER / SPV***

Dutch classic hard rockers Vengeance, who were formed 30 years ago by uniquely expressive vocalist Leon Gowie, have signed to Steamhammer / SPV to release ?Crystal Eye?, their superlative ninth studio album, on February 27th.

?Crystal Eye? was recorded by the all-star line-up of Leon Goewie, ex-AC/DC drummer Chris Slade, ex-Alice Cooper guitarist Keri Kelli, bassist Chris Glen (ex-Michael Schenker Group) and guest guitarist Timo Somers, son of former Vengeance guitarist Jan Somers, who passed away (aged just 46) in January 2011.

?Crystal Eye? was produced by Michael Voss (Mad Max), who composed most of the songs with vocalist Goewie. Exceptions are the title track, which was written by former Vengeance guitarist Arjen Lucassen (Ayreon, Stream of Passion), and ?Whole Lotta Metal?, written by Tony Martin (ex-Black Sabbath), totally tailor-made for Goewie and Vengeance. The album closes with the instrumental ?Jan?s End Piece? which features the last guitar solos recorded by Jan Somers before his unexpected death.

“More than ever before, this is a band which consists of friends,” comments Goewie who also plays with Slade, Glen and Kelli in AC/DC covers band Chris Slade?s Steel Circle. The Slade-named cover band who rock the popular clubs whenever their time allows it.

?Crystal Eye?, the follow up to 2009?s ?Soul Collector?, is, according to Leon, the most professional album he?s ever cut with Vengeance. ?After thirty years in this business, you should mature at least a little? he grins knowingly, ?so in that respect ?Crystal Eye? is slightly more serious than most of our previous releases ? but of course only to the extent where we don?t miss out on the fun of it all. It?s straightforward rock?n?roll which communicates first and foremost a positive feeling and a strong sense of humour, going directly for the audience?s central nervous system.?
