Steven Adler Apologises For Calling Guns N’ Roses ‘Hacks’

Original Guns N’ Roses member Steven Adler has said sorry for his bitter critique of the current GN’R line-up. Last week the drummer dubbed the present-day band “Axl and his band of hacks”.

Backtracking frantically, Adler stated: “Sometimes my emotions get the best of me when talking about my former band. It’s hard to see your ex in bed with somebody else. We created one of the biggest-selling debut albums of all time and it’s no secret that I want to finish what we started 25 years ago and play together at the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame.

“The guys that Axl has put together are all great players. They’re not hacks in the sense that they can’t play, they’re all incredible musicians. I just meant that they are not the original line-up. I would like to apologise to Axl, Bumblefoot, D.J., Tommy, Dizzy, Richard, Frank and Chris for my statement.”

That’s just fine and dandy, Steven – but even current members want the old Guns N’ Roses line-up back!

And, in an interview with Classic Rock Revisited, the drummer claims that the upcoming debut album from his new band Adler is a lot better than Chinese Democracy.

“Of course it is. Can you name one song off of that album? Within one day of this record coming out, you’re going to know the names of every song.”

Well, Adler the band’s first release is the digital single The One That You Hated, out through iTunes on April 10. The album itself will include guest appearances from Slash and Rob Zombie guitrist John 5.
