Mustaine won’t take back ‘Nazi America’ comments

Dave Mustaine has explained in more detail what he meant when he accused US president Barack Obama of arranging recent gun massacres.

He admits he could have been more eloquent in his “Nazi America” rant from a stage in Singapore – but insists he had an important point that needed to be made.

The thrash icon stunned fans when he said: “my president is trying to pass a gun ban. So he’s staging all of these murders. I don’t know where I’m going to live if America keeps going the way it’s going – because it looks like it’s turning into Nazi America.”

He remains convinced that US authorities were involved in recent arms scandals, including the Batman shooting, the Sikh temple killings and the “Fast and Furious” programme, in which gun smuggling trades were set up to catch criminals, resulting in over 2000 weapons being distributed in Mexico.

Speaking to controversial Infowars and Prison Planet broadcaster Alex Jones, Mustaine says: “To clarify things, no one can deny there were criminal rogues in the administration.

“Larry Pratt, the head of Gun Owners of America, who is a highly respected person, said that if they stage Fast and Furious, they’d be capable of staging everything. I was just quoting Larry Pratt.

“In the heat of the moment, when you’re on stage and you’re talking, sometimes you’re not as eloquent as you’d like to be.”

He adds: “We really need to investigate that, and we need to have the attorney general release the documents and find out who’s responsible. People died, and the democratic process is, ‘Let’s investigate this.’”

Mustaine describes himself as a patriot and explains: “I’ve always been controversial. I’m a political songwriter. This wasn’t done to hurt any of my fellow countrymen.”

Jones says: “A bunch of Democratic strategists have said a mass shooting would ‘help them reconnect with the public.’ We’d be crazy not to question the fact that, with the Batman tragedy and the Sikh tragedy, it doesn’t add up.”

The musician replies: “There’s some questions here. We deserve to know the truth. That’s it.”

Meanwhile, one of the victims of the Batman shootings has said Mustaine is simply seeking attention.

Carli Richards was hit multiple times when James Holmes began firing at a cinema in Aurora, Colorado, last month. She tells TMZ: “Some people think the president is a good scapegoat – but he didn’t shoot me.

“It’s obviously kind of absurd. People who make up conspiracies just want attention.

“Everybody is emotional and needs to blame somebody. I don’t think they realise the consequences of not being responsible for your own actions. James Holmes needs to be held accountable for his.”
