New Kiss stage show to feature giant robotic spider

Paul Stanley, Eric Singer, Gene Simmons, Tommy ThayeKiss bassist/vocalist Gene Simmons has revealed details of the band’s all-new Monster stage show.

Earlier this week rhythm guitarist/vocalist Paul Stanley promised fans they’ll be blown away when the band unveil their new stage set-up in Europe on June 1. Now Simmons has elaborated on Stanley’s comments.

The Demon said during a Q&A session with fans: “This spider is just beyond anything you’ve seen – it’ll shoot fireballs out of its tentacles. It’ll be able to be flat and come up and walk almost to the front of the stage.

“It’ll be able to just come up like this [makes spider-like movements] with the legs going like… It’s the most amazing thing I’ve ever seen.

“And at the back of it there’ll be a 70-foot screen plus all the amplifiers and the things… And then from the front of the stage… We’re going to levitate and go 30 rows into the audience. Oh, and play songs.

“It costs a fortune to do this but it is for you [the fans]. It’ll be the best tour yet, you’ll see.”

Simmons insisted the show will be 100 per cent new and not a rehashed job where the amplifiers and stairs are simply moved around and then called a new stage.

Simmons is also going to hoisted into the air at double the usual speed of eight-feet-per-second. He will be using a new type of tether that’s see-through, so fans will see him flying without strings.
