The Jokers & Sons Of Icarus London Borderline co-headline gig September 10th

Jokers RnRisAliveSons Of Icarus and The Jokers, two of the hottest up and coming new young British hard rock acts on the musical radar, are teaming up to co-headline London’s Borderline on September 10th. Tickets are available online from Kilimanjaro Live via www.kililive.com/artists/sons-of-icarus-the-jokers and from the box office on 0844 871 8803. A third act will be announced shortly.

Sons Of Icarus, who have just finished recording their incendiary debut album with producer / mixer Dan Weller of Sixth (Enter Shikari / Young Guns), went down a proverbial storm when they played as special guests on Clutch’s sold-out UK tour this month. Sons of Icarus had previously cut their teeth live supporting the likes of Vintage Trouble, Black Spiders, Rival Sons, Hayseed Dixie, The Answer and Orange Goblin. Metal Hammer’s Jonathan Selzer reviewed their debut EP in Metal Hammer last year, stating that “The opening title track might sound like the voyaging groove of Soundgarden’s ‘Big Love’ fronted by Black Crowes’ Chris Robinson but there’s so much talent and belief running here you’d swear their Surrey hometown was bordering Louisiana. 7/10”

The Jokers’ upcoming second album, ‘Rock ‘N’ Roll Is Alive’, set for release on their own Nineteenth Century Record label via Cargo in the UK (and on SPV in the rest of the world) on September 2nd, is a simply stunning sophomore release. Perfectly produced by Andy Macpherson (Eric Clapton / The Who / Barclay James Harvest / The Buzzcocks), ‘Rock ‘N’ Roll Is Alive’ is an enthralling, exquisitely performed collection of melody drenched, blues tinged classic hard rock songs, all packed with subtly seductive hook lines. ‘Rock ‘N’ Roll Is Alive’ has already been awarded 9/10 in Powerplay magazine’s June issue by writer Steve Swift, who stated that ‘The Jokers have danced away from all expectation to give us something altogether slower, bluesier, cooler. Less bombast, more Bad Company. It’s a clever move…these Jokers deliver.” The band have already sold over 8,000 physical copies and 6,000 downloads of their swaggering debut album, ‘The Big Rock ‘N’ Roll Show, since releasing it in 2009, plus toured the UK with Hawkwind, Y&T, Joe Elliott & The Down and Outz, Argent, Anvil and Fozzy.

Don’t miss the chance to catch this double bill of two of the most explosive new young British Hard rock acts around when they rock the roof off the Borderline on September 10th!
