Sex Pistols Get New Label Deal

Sex Pistols have signed a deal for their back catalogue with Universal Music Catalogue UK.

The first commitment from the label is to reissue Never Mind The Bollocks in an expanded and repackaged format to celebrate its 35th anniversary. This will happen later this year.

Universal are also planning events and other releases throughout 2012 and beyond.

The back catalogue deal includes all countries except North America.

Talking about the Universal deal, Pistols frontman John Lydon/Johnny Rotten said somewhat bafflingly:

“Music can be great when done by the great. The Sex Pistols are the greatest. Universal now has a trophy room. Music is the imitation of nature, The Sex Pistols are nature. So please give generously. Thank you.”
