The Men That Will Not Be Blamed For Nothing play London’s Lexington next Friday

Steampunk superstars THE MEN THAT WILL NOT BE BLAMED FOR NOTHING make their long-awaited return to the London stage next week!

Appearing at The Lexington on Friday 28th, the anachronistic act fronted by ‘occult comedian’ Andrew O’Neill, play their first hometown since second album ‘This May Be The Reason…’ was released back in March. Making up a suitably strange support bill are thrash titans Kremated, award-winning comedian Wil Hodgson, and The Urban Voodoo Machine’s Paul Ronney Angel – who appears with his new ‘sleazy speakeasy jazz’ venture The Dalston Devil Trio.

The Men themselves ought to be on fine funny form, coming fresh from a laughter ‘n’ lark-packed weekend performing at Bestival, where bassist Marc Burrows kept the world posted on what they got up to via a series of live updates for The Guardian website. Read all about the crowd’s reaction to vocalist and musical saw player Andy Heintz’s Victorian bathing suit, and find out just how one DJs with a wax cylinder (the archaic recording format the band chose for last summer’s ‘Free Spirit’ single) over at; http://www.guardian.co.uk/music/2012/sep/09/bestival-2012-sunday-live (Marc reports in at 15.12pm).

Going one weirder on the Freaky Release Format scale this summer, the Men last month issued ‘Margate Fhtagn (Cockles & Mussels mix)’ as a limited-to-200 download – with a stick of rock for a b-side! Media can still stream the A-side and find a press release explaining (sort of) the latest odd idea here on Soundcloud; http://soundcloud.com/workhardtracks/sets/the-men-that-will-not-be/s-ywOJy. – but as for the rock – don’t ask, our samples have long since left the office!
