Magnum’s new ‘On The Thirteenth Day’ studio album in the UK album chart at 43, the rock chart at 3 & the indie chart at 5

‘On The 13th Day’, the eighteenth studio album from hugely influential British melodic hard rock group Magnum, crashed in to UK national album chart today at number 43, simultaneously debuting at number 3 in the Rock & Metal chart and at number 5 in the Indie chart.

‘On The 13th Day’, boasting 11 soaring, brand new totally epic rock songs packed with hook filled choruses, glorious flowing melodies, luscious keyboards and flowing guitar licks, charted twelve places higher than 2011’s ‘The Visitation’, which peaked at 55 in the UK national album charts at the end of January 2011.

‘On The 13th Day’, released on SPV/ Steamhammer, has already won numerous rave reviews in the UK rock press, not least Powerplay’s Dave Cockett, who awarded 10/10, asking “How come they can still find it within themselves to deliver an album as good as the impending ‘On The Thirteenth Day’? I’ll tell you why, Tony Clarkin is a genius… an under-appreciated, all too modest genius, but a genius nonetheless! A keen enthusiast of the ‘less is more’ principle, his innate musicality and unerring ability to pen great hooks and thought provoking lyrics are the cosmic glue that binds it all together….Deceptively simple yet deliciously overblown in all the right places, ‘On The Thirteenth Day’ is a rare precious jewel that deserves to be cherished.” Don’t miss the chance to catch the mighty Magnum live juggernaut play ‘On The 13th Day’, the band’s highest charting album since 1992, live on their 13 date UK tour in November.
