System of a Down’s Shavo Odadjian Lands Acting Role in ’37: A Final Promise’

Shavo-OdadjianWith System of a Down still on a break, bassist Shavo Odadjian is finding other projects to occupy his time. One of those pursuits is acting, and he’s just landed a role in the upcoming film, ’37: A Final Promise.’

The film stars Randall Batinkoff as a rock star planning to atone for a crime he committed as a child by killing himself on his 37th birthday. But with weeks to go before the fateful day, he meets a young woman (Scottie Thompson), who makes him reconsider his longtime vow.

Odadjian appears in the film in a small role as a pot-smoking preacher / rock star. This isn’t Odadjian’s first film gig, as he previously appeared in the Ben Stiller comedy ‘Zoolander.’ He’s also served as a video director over the years, helming System of a Down’s clips for ‘Aerials’ and ‘Toxicity.’

A still from the movie featuring the bassist was recently posted on Shavo’s Facebook page

’37: A Final Promise’ is expected to premiere in August, beginning with screenings in Los Angeles the week of Aug. 8 and in New York the week of Aug. 15.
