East London band The Microdance, whose sound has been described as a quickening infection of alt rock, shoegaze, new wave, psychedelia and heavy metal, will release their long awaited debut album ‘New Waves of Hope’ in November 2014. The album was recorded and produced in Los Angeles at TheLAB studios earlier this year and follows four critically acclaimed EPs.
NWOH sees the band putting together a cohesive opus, which has enough musical and emotional variety to keep the listener engaged throughout. It’s a bright, hopeful album with flashes of moody new wave and shoegaze
New Waves of Hope features Nicole Fiorentino (Smashing Pumpkins, Veruca Salt, The Cold & Lovely) on backing vocals and Eric Gardner (Iggy Pop, Morrisey, Tegan & Sara, Tom Morello, Cyprus Hill, Moby) on drums.
Production offers also came in from from Joe Foster (co-founder of Creation Records) and Mark Garnder (Ride), but the band chose to work with Frankie Siragusa because according to frontman Alex Keevill ‘he is the man who we are most confident can assimilate and augment the grand vision of the album. He’s also a young up and coming producer with fresh ideas and that really excites us ’.
New Waves of Hope is the band doing their sound total justice with a body of work that incorporates all of the elements that have gathered them their current industry respect and fan base; but in a superior studio environment, with more time and to a much higher level of quality and consistency.
The album will feature 14 songs, all composed by Alex Keevill. It will be released in late November this year through Boxing Clever Records and distributed internationally by Redeye, In Grooves and The Orchard.
